Whistle-blowing mechanism –
Secure, Anonymous & Confidential!!
All reports, whether made anonymous or not will be treated as confidential, and the identity of the whistleblower will be safeguarded. The disclosure must include the following:
Background information and/or history of the alleged or suspected improper conduct;
Where possible, name, date, place relevant to the improper conduct;
Reasons why the whistleblower believes that the conduct in question constitutes or is likely to constitute improper conduct (this does not mean that the whistleblower must prove his/ her suspicion);
Whistleblower making disclosure must take care to provide sufficient substantiating evidence (e.g. invoices, contracts, bank statements, purchase orders, etc.) regarding the impropriety they are disclosing this making the process more efficient, effective and supportive; and/ or
Where the disclosure is anonymous the whistleblower will need to call the whistleblower fraud and ethics hotline to enquire of the status of his/her case and ensure that the investigator received all the relevant information, in that sometimes the investigator may require additional information.
