The Consumer Protection Act

The aim of the Consumer Protection Act is to ensure fair, competitive and responsible markets that protect South African consumers and promote ethical business practices. Through its national Consumer Awareness Campaign, the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) seeks to empower consumers to make well-informed buying decisions and access a wide range of products and services premised on honest and fair marketing.
