4 OCTOBER 2013

ESTATE AGENCY AFFAIRS BOARD APPOINTS A NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

It gives me great pleasure to announce on behalf of the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB), that, after the conclusion of a comprehensive and rigorous selection process, Mr. Bryan Chaplog has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the EAAB with effect from 1 October 2013.

Mr. Chaplog, a qualified and experienced Chartered Accountant by profession, has consulted widely in that capacity with the public sector.  He has undertaken audits for numerous government departments and public entities.

Mr. Chaplog was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of the EAAB in 2010 and assumed the position of Acting Chief Executive Officer during a very difficult time in the Estate Agency Affairs Board in 2011.

Mr. Chaplog, in accepting the appointment as Chief Executive Officer, has rededicated himself to leading and dealing with the many challenges still faced by the EAAB in its ongoing endeavours to become, and be recognised as, a world-class real estate regulator.  He has, furthermore, committed himself to taking all such measures and introducing all such interventions as may be necessary or required to ensure that the organisation is taken to the next level in terms of competence and service.

The Board finally is confident that Mr, Chaplog is the best choice for the position and he will fully handle the many challenges that lie ahead in ensuring the efficient and effective regulation of the real estate profession in the public interest.

Prof, Kwandiwe Kondlo
