EAAB CEO speaks on Transformation of the Real Estate Sector
Estate Agency Affairs Board Chief Executive Officer speaks on Transformation of the Real Estate Sector
Francis Herd SABC news presenter interviewed Ms Mamodupi Mohlala Mulaudzi the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) on transformation of the real estate sector. The interview was broadcasted on the Full View Show on SABC News Channel 404 on Friday, 14 June 2019.
Twenty-five years into democracy, the real estate sector has come under fire for its inability to transform. Allegations abound that cartels have limited the space to new entrants including the lack of sufficient Black participation in the sector.
The real estate sector is mainly White and also Male dominated with very few Africans participating in the sector. In this regard the EAAB Chief Executive Officer stated during the interview that the EAAB has embarked on a process to recruit young graduates to choose the real estate sector as a profession and to consider becoming a property practitioner. An internship programme is in place to assist both young graduates, and matriculants to become estate agents.
